So you're thinking of becoming a trustee, huh?
Here's why you should.

  1. We provide you with a platform to affect your community. Being a trustee puts you in the driver's seat to share your opinions about grant applications and affect who gets funded. If you're shy and don't want to speak up you don't have to, we won't force you.

  2. You get to meet other cool folks like you that also care about our community and are compassionate, pay it forward minded and attractive. I mean, we're all attractive on the inside with our glowing philanthropic hearts.

  3. We have a good time. Our meetings once a month include fun locations, spirits, snacks, and lots of laughs. Look at the image above, you want to be there too. We want you.

To join our group as a trustee, we’ll ask you to commit in three main ways:

GIVE $100 EACH MONTH, FOR YOUR 12 MONTH COMMITMENT

The UNFoundation operates out of the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, and your contribution will be tax deductible.  100% of your contribution will go directly to the projects we fund.

ATTEND ONE MEETING A MONTH, FOR 12 MONTHS

We usually meet on the last Tuesday of the each month at around 6pm, at a convenient location downtown.  We are respectful of your time and meetings don’t usually last longer than an hour and a half.  Trustees come to meetings having read all the applications and are ready to discuss all potential projects. If you are unable to make this time commitment, we ask you simply make a donation to our engine of good or designate someone as your 'sponsor' who may vote on your behalf. We can help pick someone if you like, just give us some criteria.

BE AN UNFOUNDATION AMBASSADOR

The success of this group is all because of our awesome trustees.  Our trustees are an incredible and diverse group of individuals who are committed to making Chattanooga better.  A great trustee will represent our group by letting the community know about UNFoundation funds and encouraging people to apply.  Leverage your friends, family, church groups, and classmates by letting them know that UNFoundation funds exist and are awarded to awesome ideas! They also show up to our Beer + Advice events to help fellow Chattanoogans win grants with their knowledge.
