We are not currently in need of working board members, but we will happily accept your application so we can notify you when we do.
The UNFoundation is run by a group of four regular folks with full-time jobs just like you. We have two board positions open, and we are asking you to apply. A board position sounds fancy, we get it. But let’s level — we’re not your typical board of directors. No stuffy meetings or suits required. Just super chill folks who volunteer a few hours each month to make Chattanooga the best damn city in the South.
What’s the difference between trustees and the board? Trustees are the meat and potatoes of The UNFoundation giving $100 each month to fund our grants. If we didn’t have trustees, we don’t have monthly grants. Supporting them means working to meet their needs for networking, warm hugs, and community knowledge.
What we’re looking to complete our board:
Someone pumped to spread the word about our badass monthly microgrants ($3k!). That means getting the deets out to everyone– social media, presentations, community events, news rags, carrier pigeons. Whatever it takes to let people know we exist.
Someone eager to handle essential board tasks like: wrangling past grant winners to report at monthly meetings, finding and reserving meeting spaces, writing up grants for our website, reaching out to the community for more applicants, and recruiting new trustees. Not glamorous but so necessary to keep this machine running.
What you bring: 2 year commitment, 2-4 hours a month, a community mindset.
